The crowd of 4,000 had to be dispersed by the police

Kanye West makes the headlines again. The Grammy-award winner, husband-of-Kim-Kardashian and father of a girl called “North” was scheduled to perform at the Governors Ball music festival yesterday night on Randall’s Island in New York City. The event was cancelled due to bad weather but what the rapper did was mind-blowing.

Not wanting to disappoint his fans, Kanye took the party to the streets! His creative director posted on Instagram, “Summer jam now. PABLO details being sorted. update shortly”. An earlier version of his post read: “Summer Jam now. We’re doing PABLO at 2 am in Manhattan. Sorting out where now.”

The party was to take place on 13th Street in the East Village and about 4,000 people showed up in attendance at about 2AM. West wanted to perform while standing atop his car’s sunroof. He came out and everyone wanting to get a better view of the rapper, began climbing cars, dumpsters and scaffoldings.

It was pandemonium with people screaming atop their voices and causing a riot-like atmosphere. The police intervened and the show was cancelled. At least one person was arrested.
