Bishop (Dr.) Sunday Okokoni (JP) is the Presiding Bishop of Praise God Christian Chapel Int’l Inc. He is an evangelist, a teacher and a great administrator, who is highly obsessed with the winning of souls and training of God’s armies for the kingdom of God.

Bishop Okokoni’s ministry of deliverance, prosperity and miracles has taken him to churches throughout Nigeria, Ghana, other parts of West Africa, Germany, Holland, France, and the United States of America. His dynamic message on salvation and deliverance has reached millions of souls around the world.

Born in 1949 at Efandion Uromi in Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo State, Sunday Okokoni is a former European Economic Community (EEC) Delegation Administrator.

He started his ministerial training at the Community Bible Institute (Headquarters) USA, where he obtained his diploma in theology and at the Fuller Theological Seminaries where he subsequently had his doctorate degree among others.

Bishop Okokoni runs a world outreach ministry. It is an interdenominational outreach ministry that takes the gospel from one city, one village, one state, one country and from one nation to the other. The outreach is set to decongest the kingdom of darkness by winning souls into the kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, which is the kingdom of light. It is also set to bring men and women to God and God to them, thereby changing lives and winning lost souls back to God.

The outreach is a kingdom builder that paves the passion and love for Christ both in season and out of season, with love and joy. Bishop Okokoni uses the outreach to preach the undefiled word of God that brings salvation to sinners and thereafter, testimonies follow.

The outreach is also established to bring hope to the hopeless, help to the widows, help to the orphans, and to lead area boys to hope in life and to provide home for the homeless.

Bishop Okokoni, a pastor, soul winner and a conference speaker of repute, is the founder of Praise God Christian Ministries. He is happily married to Rev. (Mrs.) Patience Airekenaghe Sunday and they are blessed with children and grand-children to the glory of God.

It is in recognition of his contribution to national development in the area of Christian Leadership that Bishop (Dr) Sunday Okokoni is deemed worthy to be conferred with the Development in Nigeria Merit Award which is part of the 2017 PSR National Awards.
