A torrent of condolences has been pouring for Nigerian singer, Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo popularly known as D’Banj and his wife, Didi over the loss of their one-year-old son, David.

The toddler who just celebrated his one year birthday last month, drowned in an indoor swimming pool on Sunday at the couple’s residence in Ikoyi, Lagos State.

The 38-year-old D’banj, popularly known as the ‘Koko Master’ was in the United States to attend the BET Awards event when the accident happened. He wrote: “Trying Times. But my God is Always and Forever Faithful.”

Davido who bagged the BET Award for the ‘Best International Artist’ paid his condolence while delivering his acceptance speech at the awards ceremony.

Prominent Nigerian Disk Jockey, Cool DJ Jimmy Jatt‏ wrote: “Stay strong D’banj”, using a black square image to drive home his sympathy.

On his own part Peter Okoye of PSquare wrote: “Heartfelt condolences to D’banj and his family. Words can never be enough. Stay strong.”

Another Nigerian singer, Aramide tweeted: “I pray for strength for D’banj and his wife and family in general during this very difficult period. God knows best. It is well.”

Toyin Saraki, wife of Nigeria’s Senate President also joined in the outpouring of sympathies. She wrote: “Heartbreaking. May Almighty God be with @iambangalee Dbanj and his wife at this tragic time and always. May their beautiful little one rest in peace. Amen.”
