The Chief Executive Officer of Bayern Munich Football Club, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has disclosed that the club will not release star striker and Polish forward, Robert Lewandowski even for a fee of €150 million.

Speaking during an interview with TZ on Wednesday, the 62-year-old Rummenigge said Lewandowski who is regarded as one of the best strikers in the world has been on the radar of leading clubs in Europe, especially Spain’s Real Madrid.

Since losing Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus of Italy, the Madrid management has been seeking to land Lewandowski who scored 29 goals in 30 appearances for Bayern in the German Bundesliga last season.

But Rummenigge maintains that the club experienced the same situation with Frenchman, Franck Ribery in recent years but managed to hold on to him.

“We have a completely different philosophy to other clubs. With Franck, we had this problem when Chelsea and Real were after him. Franck also showed cravings but we told him that we would not sell.

“And now he is one of the happiest footballers in the world, because he has found his home in Bavaria and Munich. I think he too is glad that we made that decision. With players, one must show a clear attitude. Lewandowski also wanted to move on, but we told him that we wouldn’t allow it.

“We are totally satisfied with the player, there are few that compare to him in his position, and so it is not in our interest to hand him over; no matter if someone puts 100m or 150m euros on the table.

“Since we decided with Franck in 2008 that we won’t open the exit door, that is our mantra: the top quality players we have at our disposal must remain with Bayern Munich,” Rummenigge said.
