Tennis great and one of the richest sports people in the world, Serena Williams is engaged. She has said “Yes” to 33-year-old Reddit co-founder, Alexis Ohanian.

Alexis, a New Yorker and Serena, 35, started dating in 2015. Somehow, the two of them successfully kept the affair a little bit of a secret.

Now, Serena’s friends and relatives are pleasantly surprised at just how excited she could be in love. They confess they never saw her so happy.

The tennis superstar decided to break the news in the form of a poem she wrote on Reddit.

“I came home. A little late. Someone had a bag packed for me. And a carriage waited. Destination: Rome.

“To escort me to my very own ‘charming.’ Back to where our stars first collided. And now it was full circle. At the same table we first met by chance.

“But by choice. Down on knee. He said 4 words. And I said yes.”

On his part, Alexis shared the announcement on Facebook where he wrote: “She said yes.” So, how does Serena’s acceptance make him feel? He made a comment on Serena’s Reddit post which said it all: “And you made me the happiest man on the planet.”

Serena Williams is a superlatively successful woman. She is the world’s undisputed Queen of Tennis with a career which has earned her 22 Grand Slams. She has been known to be very protective of her success and image although she has been romantically linked with two rappers namely Drake and Common as well as her manager of many years, Patrick Mouratoglou.

Alexis Ohanian is also very successful as co-founder of Reddit. He is also the author of the widely acclaimed book, Without Their Permission
