
The eight-year-old son of Gambia’s president-elect, Adama Barrow has died after a dog bite. The little Habibu Barrow is said to have died on his way to a hospital near the Gambian capital, Banjul.
The President-elect who is currently being safeguarded in Senegal was advised to miss the burial of his son because of the ongoing political turmoil in his home nation.
Outgoing Gambian President, Yahya Jammeh rejected the results of the 2016 elections Barrow clearly won. Jammeh has come under fire from the African Union and ECOWAS for refusing the results and threatening the peace of the Gambia.
