The strongman of African politics who has been in power for 37 years in Zimbabwe has finally bowed down to pressure. Mr Robert Gabriel Mugabe has this Tuesday, November 21, 2017 resigned his position as President.
His resignation was announced by the Speaker of the House of Parliament after he received a letter from Mugabe.
Wild jubilation followed in Harare, the country’s capital as citizens of Zimbabwe came out to the streets to celebrate their liberation. Mugabe was expected to resign in a state broadcast on Sunday, the 19th of November, 2017, but still held on to power.
