The Senate on Thursday swore in Chief Victor Umeh of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) as senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly.
Accompanied by his wife and a large crowd of supporters, Victor Umeh’s swearing in which was supervised by the Senate President, Bukola Saraki lasted for about 10 minutes.
After the swearing in, Senator Umeh who is the only APGA member in the Senator exchanged greetings with the Senate President and other members of the upper legislature chamber.
Addressing newsmen shortly after the ceremony, Senator Umeh said his sojourn into the Senate was tough as he narrated the series of legal battles he undertook to secure the seat.
He expressed happiness that he was finally able to secure a seat in the hallowed chamber to represent the people of Anambra Central and the nation at large in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
