The Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Shehu Sani has reacted to his alleged rejection by the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairmen that make up his senatorial district.
The APC chieftains representing Chikun, Birnin Gwari, Kajuru, Kaduna North, Kaduna South and Giwa Local Government Areas had through a communiqué after their meeting on Saturday endorsed Sani Uba, a political adviser to Governor Nasir El-Rufai as their choice for the Senatorial seat.
In a statement released by his Special Adviser, Senator Sani accused Governor El-Rufai of sponsoring the ‘fake’ endorsement meeting after repeated failed attempts to suspend him from the party.
“The so called rejection of Senator Shehu Sani by so called six chairmen of APC is nothing but Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s antics,” the statement said.
It added: “After two and half years of failed attempts to suspend Senator Sani or recall him, El-Rufai has stooped to organizing fake party chairmen and endorsing his political adviser called Sani Uba.
“It will interest the general public to know that El-Rufai is simply diverting the attention and shielding his political adviser who will be in court in February for organizing thugs for invade the NUJ secretariat.
“He has endorsed himself for governorship and arranging an endorsement for his puppy and low grade errand boy. He has clung unto President Buhari for his political oxygen and life.”
He further accused the Governor of frequenting the Aso Rock Villa while his state is being ravaged by herdsmen and kidnappers, calling on outsiders to sample opinions of residents towards the performance of Governor El-Rufai ahead of the 2019 polls.
