The world’s tallest man, Sultan Kosen and shortest woman, Jyoti Amge have visited Egypt’s Giza Pyramids as part of a campaign which aims to revive the country’s struggling tourism industry.
It was the first time both Kosen and Amge would be visiting the North African country courtesy of the invitations they received from the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board.
According to the Guinness World Records, the 35-year-old Sultan Kosen who is of Kurdish origin is considered as the first person in more than a decade to officially measure more than 8 feet. Standing at 2.51metres, Kosen is one of the only 10 confirmed cases in the history of mankind.
Amge, a 24-year-old actress who stars in the American television series ‘American Horror Story’ is just 62.7 cm tall.
The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism say the pair is expected to visit other famous sites around the country during their stay.
The visit follows a sting of visits by other prominent celebrities including Hollywood actor, Will Smith, reality TV star, Kourtney Kardashian as well as Argentina football star, Lionel Messi.
Although Egypt’s tourism sector has suffered many setbacks since the uprising that toppled President Hosni Mubarak in 2011, it still remains a vital source of foreign exchange with an estimated 1.2 million tourists visiting the country in 2016, down from 2.2 million the previous year.
