Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu says Iran is the world’s greatest threat. He said Israel would not hesitate to take action against Tehran and any of its allies in the Middle East.
Addressing the Munich Security Conference on Sunday, Netanyahu, while holding a picture he said was an Iranian drone after its incursion into Israeli airspace early this month urged the United States and European officials to counter Iran immediately.
“Israel will not allow Iran’s regime to put a noose of terror around our neck. We will act without hesitation to defend ourselves. And we will act if necessary not just against Iran’s proxies that are attacking us, but against Iran itself,” Netanyahu said.
Responding, Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammed Jarad Zarif told the conference that the shooting down of an Israeli jet after it bombed an Iranian site in Syria had shattered Israel’s “so called invisibility.”
Zarif further accused the Israeli government of using aggression against its neighbours and expressed dismay over Israel’s daily incursion into Syria, Lebanon and other countries.
The Munich Security Conference is a major global forum that has over the past five years brought together world decision makers to engage in intensive debate on current and future security challenges across the globe.
