The Akwa Ibom State Government has initiated moves to demolish the state campaign office for the re-election bid of President Muhammadu Buhari which was inaugurated on Monday.
The President’s campaign secretariat under the umbrella of National Committee of Buhari Support Groups (NCBSG) was inaugurated by the President who was represented by Senator Ita Enang, his Special Assistant on National Assembly Matters (Senate).
Investigations by People & Power revealed that the four-storey edifice located at 23 Wellington Bassey Way, Uyo has been marked for demolition by an agency of the state government, the Uyo Capital City Development Authority (UCCDA).
Sources say the state government had made concerted efforts to stop the structure, which is situated a few metres from the State Government House, the Hilltop Mansion from being leased out to the Buhari campaign political group.
