President Muhammmadu Buhari has, according to sources close to the Presidency, given his nod to the Department of State Services (DSS) to invite the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole for further interrogation. The interrogation has to do with strong allegations of shady deals involving the APC chairman in the conduct of the party’s recent primary elections.
A report quoted one source as saying that the Director-General of the DSS, Mr. Yusufi Bichi has informed the President about the agency’s desire to grill Oshiomhole over allegations levelled against him by some aggrieved members of the party.
Sources within the presidency disclosed that Buhari actually asked the DSS to go ahead and do their job after he was furnished with details of the allegations against his party chairman.
Oshiomhole, who became the National Chairman of the party less than five months ago has been having running battles with some state governors and leaders of the APC following the party’s congresses.
It was gathered that some of the governors, especially those who were unable to secure party tickets for their anointed candidates had been mounting pressure on the President to overrule the party chairman on the choice of candidates from their states.
Recall that between Sunday and Monday this week, the DSS reportedly grilled Oshiomhole for about nine hours after which he travelled out of the county.
