With less than a week to the commencement of gubernatorial campaigns for the 2019 general elections in Nigeria, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has appointed Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s aide, Abdul-Hakeem Abdul-Lateef as a director in his campaign organization.
The governorship hopeful also appointed the Deputy Speaker of the Lagos House of Assembly, Wasiu Eshinlokun-Sanni as director.
The campaign team also adopted the Independent Campaign Group (ICG) platform to run an inclusive campaign structure that would accommodate aggrieved members and form a joint electioneering front for the 2019 election.
Under the new structure, 43 members of the party were appointed based on their expertise as directors and coordinators to serve across the three senatorial districts in the state.
According to Sanwo-Olu’s campaign organization, the minor adjustments were made to ensure that the governorship candidates of other political parties in the state were kept on their toes till after the election.
