The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) made up of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and 45 other parties have formally adopted former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar as its presidential candidate in the 2019 election.
This was disclosed through the chairman of the coalition, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola today in Abuja at the opening of a meeting of the national chairmen of the parties.
Prince Oyinlola said various factors ranging from local and international, including administrative experience, were considered before adopting Atiku as its candidate.
Oyinlola also said the CUPP is currently made up of 46 political parties, with other applications being considered.
