There was panic this Friday among commuters and residents who live close to the Asaba end of the Niger Bridge in Delta State following the discovery of a strange object suspected to be an Improvised Explosive Device (IED).
The discovery, which was made by some site workers who were digging the foundation for the perimeter fencing of the ‘C’ Division of the Delta State Police Command threw the entire neighborhood into confusion as many scampered for safety.
Confirming the discovery, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Anthony Ogbizi said the object has been evacuated by men of the Bomb Disposal Unit (BDU) of the Command for analysis.
