Some hoodlums suspected to be political thugs on Monday set ablaze a campaign office belonging to the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kano State, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf.
A statement issued by Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the spokesman of the gubernatorial candidate said the office located at No. 36 Chiranchi Quarters in Gwale Local Government Area of the state was invaded by over 60 thugs.
Tofa alleged that the thugs were led by Junaidu Abdulhamid, a personal assistant to the State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Abbas and one Habibu Dandayis, a die-hard supporter of Abbas.
The statement further disclosed that the thugs also vandalized a Volkswagen Golf III car with registration number NSR 237 AE during the attack.
The gubernatorial candidate therefore called on the Police and other security agencies in the state to, as a matter of urgency, investigate the matter with a view to bringing the culprits to justice.
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Haruna Abdullahi Kiyawa said they were yet to receive any complaint or report on the incident.
