Kwara State governor-elect, Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has pledged to interface with the Nigeria Police to ensure that all those implicated in the historic Offa robbery case were promptly prosecuted and the guilty ones jailed.
Abdulrazaq, who made the vow while speaking at a media briefing on Sunday night in Ilorin where he delivered his acceptance speech amidst cheering supporters of the All Progressive Congress (APC) said that he would ensure that the judicial process in the matter was logically concluded.
The governor-elect noted that the state had become so insecure to the extent that banking operations had been virtually suspended in the entire Kwara South senatorial zone after the robbery.
“This development is seriously affecting the economic development of the zone. We will interface with the Police to address the challenge of insecurity,” Abdulrazaq said.
While promising that his administration would be accountable to the people, he added that the Offa robbery incident where 33 people were killed has been linked to top government officials.
