President Muhammadu Buhari has set up an audit committee mandated with the task of investigating and appraising the policies, programmes and projects undertaken under his administration.
According to a statement issued from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and signed by Olusegun Adekunle, the committee will be headed by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, with the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari as one of its members.
The statement said President Buhari has tasked the Committee to determine the status of implementation of the policies, programmes and projects either inherited or commenced in his first tenure.
The President also asked them to identify and highlight the challenges which may affect the successful implementation of such policies, programmes and projects.
The committee has also been directed to prepare a comprehensive working document which would guide the incoming members of the President’s cabinet on the direction of government.
The Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Winifred Oyo-Ita and the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele are also among the members of the committee expected to be inaugurated on Friday, March 23, 2019.
