A Federal High Court sitting in Yola on Wednesday sacked Abdurauf Moddibo, the All Progressives Congress (APC) member recently elected to represent Yola North/Yola South and Girei Federal Constituency of Adamawa State.
The incumbent member of the House of Representatives for the constituency, Lawal Garba had dragged Moddibo to court on the grounds that the primary election which produced him as the APC candidate was inconclusive.
Delivering the judgment, the presiding judge, Justice Abdulaziz Anka ruled that the ruling party did not field a candidate for Yola North/Yola South and Girei Federal Constituency.
Justice Anka also directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to withdraw the certificate of return issued to Modibbo and issue same to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Jafar Ribadu who came second in the February 23 National Assembly polls.
