Nigeria’s Acting Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu has vowed to dismiss any police officer found guilty of power abuse while on duty.
Adamu, who stated this on Monday during his official visit to Lagos State to condole with bereaved families of victims of the misuse of firearms in the state said the recent abuse of power by some police officers was against the statutory provisions of the Nigeria Police.
He further disclosed that the line supervisors of such officers, including the Area Commander, Divisional Police Officer or Sectional Head would be sanctioned for failure to effectively supervise their subordinates.
