The management of The Polytechnic Ibadan on Thursday morning announced the immediate suspension of all forms of activities by the Student Union Government (SUG) of the institution.
Announcing the suspension, the institution’s spokesperson, Mr. Adewole Soladoye said the decision by the polytechnic’s management became necessary because the student union had failed to obey and follow the rules guiding its activities on campus.
According to Soladoye, the management directed the immediate suspension because of the violence that has trailed the ongoing football competition in the institution which has threatened examinations slated to commence next week.
While urging all students to stay focused and committed to their forthcoming examinations, Soladoye warned that the management would not hesitate to deal with anyone who flouted the rules of the institution.
