The North Korean government has executed five officials for the part they played in the failed second summit between America’s President, Donald Trump and the country’s leader, Kim Jong Un.
Citing a South Korean newspaper, Bloomberg News reported that North Korea’s special envoy to the US, Kim Hyok Chol was executed by firing squad in March for being ‘won over by the American imperialists to betray the supreme leader’.
The paper also claimed that three other North Korean Foreign Ministry officials were executed that same month due to the breakdown of the February summit in Hanoi, Vietnam.
Another of Jong Un’s top aide, Kim Yong Chol is reportedly undergoing hard labor for his role in the breakdown of the much-anticipated summit which ended abruptly and without the two leaders signing any agreements over nuclear disarmament.
