Nigeria’s main opposition Peoples Democratic Party says it has over 400 witnesses who are willing to testify against President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.
The party’s lead counsel, Livy Uzoukwu stated this on Monday while responding to a question by the Tribunal Chairman, Mohammed Garba meant to help the Tribunal arrange a timetable for the hearing of the substantive application.
Garba had asked Uzoukwu to disclose the number of witnesses they had so that the court would decide on the duration of time to be allowed for each party to cross examine the witnesses.
The PPD is challenging the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the tribunal sitting in Abuja.
