Following the public outcry about his government’s proposed establishment of Ruga settlements for herdsmen across Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the immediate suspension of the project.
The Ruga settlement project, an idea designed to stem the tide of herdsmen/farmers clashes across the country had received massive condemnations and even protests from different parts of the country.
Buhari, after due consultations with stakeholders decided to shelve the idea to make way for a more acceptable approach to solving the menace of constant and bloody clashes between herdsmen and farmers.
