The Kogi State Police Command has paraded six suspected culprits in the burning to death of the PDP Woman Leader in Kogi State, Mrs Salome Abuh a day after the state’s governorship election. The Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Busari said the suspects would be arraigned in court soon.
One of the suspects, Ocholi Edicha, confessed during interrogation that he was the leader of the gang. He confessed to slapping Mrs Salome Abuh on the day of the election, but denied the burning down of her house.
Edicha claimed that late Salome Abuh’s home was burnt down by members of the APC. He also said there was a face-off between members of the APC and the PDP which led to the alleged burning of the house.
The Commissioner of Police called for calm and assured that the perpetrators would not go unpunished,. He also said that efforts were being made to arrest other fleeing members of the gang.
