Uche Nwosu, the candidate of the Action Alliance (AA) in the March 2019 gubernatorial election in Imo State has withdrawn his appeal against Hon. Emeka Ihedioha’s victory before the Supreme Court.
This was disclosed by his counsel,Mr. Solomon Umoh (SAN).
The withdrawal on Tuesday is based on the judgment of the apex court delivered on the 20th of December 2019.
“Based on the judgment of this court in appeal SC. 1384/2019 delivered on December 20, 2019, and subsequently, on my advice to my client, we have decided to withdraw this appeal,” he said.
The Supreme Court in a ruling on December 20 had nullified Nwosu’s candidacy on the ground that he was the candidate of two different parties namely the Action Alliance (AA) and the All Progressives Congress in the same election at the same time.
