The Lagos state government has confirmed a third case of coronavirus in the state.
Akin Abayomi, the state’s commissioner for health, disclosed this at a press conference on Tuesday.
He said the new case is independent of the index case. The case is a 30 year old Nigerian woman who arrived from the United Kingdom on the 13th of March. She observed self-isolation when she arrived and developed symptoms. Her test came out positive.
The Commissioner said the patient is receiving care at the Mainland General Hospital, Lagos.
This news comes a few days after the state government confirmed that the second case was now free of the virus.
Several countries including Ghana have placed a ban on travellers who have visited countries where the Coronavirus outbreak is alarming.
