There are discordant tunes coming out of the leadership ranks of Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress, APC. There is an apparent tussle over who sits at the helm of the party’s administration following the sacking yesterday of the National Chairman, Mr Adams Oshiomhole by the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja.
A few hours after the Deputy National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Mr Victor Giadom announced himself as the party’s Acting National Chairman, the National Working Committee of the APC has re-affirmed former Oyo State governor and Deputy National Chairman (South) of the party, Abiola Ajimobi as its Acting National Chairman.
Deputy Vice-Chairman (South-South), Hillary Eta, who addressed the media in the absence of Ajimobi, also announced the reversal of the cancellation of the screening of the governorship aspirants in Edo State.
Hilary Eta also said preparations for the Edo governorship primary were on course.
The National Working Committee subsequently appointed Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, as the Chairman of its Edo State governorship primary election committee.
It also disowned Victor Giadom, insisting that his membership of the NWC ceased when he resigned to contest the Deputy Governorship position in Rivers State.
