The results of Saturday’s Edo State governorship election for Orhionmwon Local Government Area have been announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party and incumbent Governor, Godwin Obaseki scored 13,445 votes while the All Progressives Congress flag bearer, Pastor Osaze Ize-Iyamu won 10,458 votes. Orhionmwon is the home local government area of Ize-Iyamu and many political observers expected him to win it.
Only one local government area namely Ovia South West now has results waiting to be announced. The results of 17 out of the state’s 18 local government areas are now known.
