A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to Senator Ali Ndume, who was ordered on Monday to be remanded in Kuje Correctional Centre, Abuja for failing to produce former Chairman, defunct Pension Reformed Task Team (PRTT), Abdulrashed Maina, for who he stood surety.
Justice Okon Abang who granted the bail on Friday said the decision was based on Senator Ndume’s record of good behaviour in court.
He also ordered the senator to produce one surety who must be a resident of Abuja and present evidence of ownership of property anywhere in Abuja.Ndume was also directed to deposit his passport with the Chief Registrar of the court.
Ndume, who represents Borno South Senatorial District, was remanded in the prison custody after the court found that Maina has jumped bail.
