Mrs Iyabode Oshundara is a sound educator who has a burning desire to see children grow and succeed at learning. She has over 30 years of experience in the education sector, nurturing and developing children

A highly enthusiastic teaching professional who is eager to provide all students with a solid education, she has a talent for bringing the classroom to life with real-world examples and innovative technology. She has a proven ability for discovering students’ varying learning styles and ensuring that each student’s unique academic needs are met.

Mrs Iyabode Oshundara is the highly resourceful proprietor of Yolad Montessori School which is located in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital. She is also a business-orientated professional facilitator with 10 years of hands-on experience as a corporate trainer in Montessori Education. She deploys diverse communication and instructional skills to help teachers effectively comprehend and retain presented material. She is gifted with the ability of capturing and holding the listener’s attention. She is committed to establishing a warm, supportive, and inclusive learning environment to optimize student learning.

Iyabode attended Ikeja Grammar School, Ikeja, Lagos for her West African Senior School Certificate (WASSC). She thereafter went on to earn an Advanced Diploma in Business Administration at the University of Ibadan. She also bagged a BSc in Business Administration at Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State.

Apparently determined to make a distinguished career in education, she enrolled at the Federal College of Education Osiele, Abeokuta and earned  a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education. She also has both Ordinary and Advanced  diplomas in Montessori Education. She is a holder of the Advanced Diploma in Montessori Education of the Centre for Montessori Education Nigeria, the Trainers Certificate in Montessori and the Modern Montessori International Trainers Certificate in Montessori Education.

Mrs Iyabode Oshundara’s long career in education has seen her through varying roles. She was a classroom teacher at  Ilewo Orile Community High School in Ogun State. She was a Nursery and Elementary Teacher at Sarah Nursery and Primary School, Lagos Mainland. She was also a Teacher at Rose Valley Nursery and Primary School, Lagos Mainland. She was Head of School at Ebenezer Monterssori School before going on to be Proprietor at Yolad Montessori School, Abeokuta.

This high-flying educator is also a prolific author. Her books are in use in schools in various parts of Nigeria.

Mrs Oshundara is a Member of the Association of Montessori Practitioners, Secretary of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools, Abeokuta Chapter and a Member of the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria.

It is in recognition of her contribution to national development in the sphere of Management, Development and Delivery of Quality Education that Mrs Iyabode Arike Oshundara was deemed worthy to be conferred with the Woman of Merit Gold Award which is part of the PSR National Awards.
