Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has approved the new minimum wage for civil servants in the state and has subsequently directed the State Head of Service to immediately commence the implementation of the N30,000 upgrade to government staff from grade levels one to six.
The directive was contained in a statement made available by his Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase on Tuesday, in which the governor also appreciated the labour union leaders for their understanding.
He further reaffirmed his commitment to the implementation of the agreement and assured Benue workers that his administration will continually give priority to their welfare, while also addressing other challenges of developing the state.
