President Muhammadu has urged the Senate to consider and confirm the immediate past Service Chiefs of the Nigerian Armed Forces for appointment as ambassadors.
Senate President Ahmad Lawan read Buhari’s letters of request on the floor at plenary on Tuesday.
The ex-Service Chiefs to be confirmed as envoys include: General Abayomi Olonisakin (rtd), Lt. General Tukur Buratai (rtd), Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar (rtd), and Air Vice Marshal Mohammed Usman (rtd).
The President also urged the Senate to confirm the newly appointed Service Chiefs.
The new Service Chiefs to be confirmed are Chief of Defence Staff Major-General Leo Irabor; Chief of Army Staff Major-General Ibrahim Attahiru; Chief of Naval Staff Rear Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo and Chief of Air Staff, Air-Vice Marshal Isiaka Oladayo Amao.
