Men of the Oduduwa Peoples Congress (OPC), have arrested Iskilu Wakili, a Fulani herdsman allegedly notorious for seizing hectares of farmlands, raping of women, and kidnapping the rich for ransom in Ayete, a town in the Ibarapa area of Oyo State,
Wakili was arrested along with some of his men on Sunday morning, and has been handed over to the police in Ayete for interrogation and further investigation.
The OPC leader, Chief Adedeji Oluwole who led the operation and confirmed the arrest to newsmen said he was surprised at how such an “aged” man could be perpetrating such criminal activities.
Oluwole said when they got to Wakili’s residence in the bush, his aides opened fire at them but they were able to escape unhurt and in the end, they arrested Wakili and 3 of his aides.
However, Wakili when interviewed by the men of the OPC denied perpetrating any criminal activities but one of his aides confirmed that they have firearms.
