Yet to be identified gunmen on Tuesday night attacked a private university in Kaduna State and abducted an unspecified number of students.

The academic institution, Greenfield University, is located along the Kaduna–Abuja Highway in Chikun Local Government Area. Established three years ago, it is the first private university in the state.

The Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr Samuel Aruwan, confirmed the incident to Channels Television.

The exact number of students kidnapped has not yet been verified.
