Bandits have attacked the permanent site of the Nigerian Defence Academy in Kaduna State, killing two officers and abducting one other officer.
This was disclosed by NDA spokesman Major Bashir Muhd Jajira.
“The security architecture of the Nigerian Defence Academy was compromised early this morning by unknown gunmen who gained access into the residential area within the Academy in Afaka,” Jajira said in a statement.
“During the unfortunate incident, we lost two personnel and one was abducted.”
Jajira stated that academy with 1Division Nigerian Army, Air Training Command and other security agencies in Kaduna state has since commenced pursuit of the gunmen and rescue the abducted personnel.
“The NDA community and Cadets are safe in the Academy. We assure the general public that this unknown gunman would soon be apprehended and the abducted personnel rescued,” Jajira said.
The Nigerian Defence Academy is located few metres away from the Federal College of Forestry Mechanization Afaka, in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, where 39 students were abducted by bandits in March.
