Air Peace said on Thursday that it has deployed its aircraft to evacuate Nigerians stranded in Europe as a result of the invasion of Ukraine by Russia.
Spokesman of the airline, Stanley Olisa, said the deployment of its plane is for the first batch of Nigerians to be evacuated since the war broke out.
The aircraft, he said departed Nigeria at 2:20 am on Thursday, for Warsaw, Poland.
The Federal Government engaged the services of Air Peace and another airline to evacuate over 2,000 Nigerian nationals from countries such as Poland, Romania, Hungary and Slovakia fleeing the war in Ukraine following the Russian invasion.
