The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has announced a salary increment for workers in the state public office.
Sanwo-Olu made this announcement on Tuesday during his courtesy visit to the Head, Office of Public Service in Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.
The governor said he understands that the high inflation in the country may have affected the purchasing power of workers.
He said Lagos state will not wait for the federal government before it improves the well-being of workers.
“I have looked around and I know that as a country, there is pressure,” he said.
“I know that, as a country, there is a high level of inflation.
“At our cabinet meeting, I instructed the head of service office and the ministry of staff, training, and pensions to start work on how we are going to increase the entire salary of our public servants.”
