Breaking news coming out of Nigeria today, as the National Working Committee of the ruling All Progressives Congress has made a significant announcement. The committee has now officially zoned the leadership of the 10th National Assembly, according to a statement released by the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Felix Morka.
The zoning arrangement announced by the NWC includes Senator Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom in the South-South as the Senate President, and Senator Barau Jubrin of Kano in the North-West as the Deputy Senate President. Meanwhile, the Speaker of the House of Representatives position has been zoned to Hon. Abass Tajudeen of Kaduna in the North-West, with Hon. Ben Kalu of Abia in the South-East named as the Deputy Speaker.
This announcement followed a meeting by the NWC on Monday, where reports of consultations and meetings with the President-Elect, Bola Tinubu, and other stakeholders on the zoning arrangement for the 10th National Assembly were discussed. According to Morka, the NWC has called for further and better consultation with necessary stakeholders to ensure the support of aspirants to the National Assembly leadership positions and members of the party nationwide.
