The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially confirmed the resignation of Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the National Chairman, and Senator Iyiola Omisore, the National Secretary. The announcement was made during the NWC meeting held on Monday under the chairmanship of Senator Abubakar Kyari.
Senator Kyari, who assumed the role of Acting Chairman, also disclosed that Barrister Festus Fuanter, the Deputy National Secretary, would serve as the Acting Secretary. The new leadership took immediate effect following the resignations.
In addition to the leadership changes, the NWC also announced the postponement of the National Caucus and National Executive Committee meetings. These meetings, which were initially scheduled to take place on Tuesday and Wednesday, have been rescheduled to accommodate the recent developments within the party.
The resignations of Senator Adamu and Senator Omisore mark a significant transition within the APC’s top leadership. Their decision to step down from their respective positions will undoubtedly have an impact on the party’s direction and future strategies. As the APC navigates this transitional period, the Acting Chairman and Acting Secretary, along with the remaining NWC members, will assume the responsibility of steering the party forward.
