President Bola Tinubu has submitted a second batch of ministerial nominees to the Senate for screening, completing his cabinet selection for all 36 states.
On Wednesday, Senate President Godwill Akpabio read out the names of 19 additional appointees put forward by the president. Earlier, former House Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila had delivered the supplementary list to the upper chamber.
The latest nominees join the first set cleared by senators last week. With these final selections, President Tinubu has met his pledge to ensure representation for every state in the federal executive council.
Among the new names proposed are politicians like ex-governors Adegboyega Oyetola and Atiku Bagudu, former senator Heineken Lokpobiri, and IT and Banking expert, Lola Ade-John.
If confirmed, the appointees will be sworn in as ministers and allocated portfolios ranging from transportation to education, health, defense and finance.
President Tinubu urged lawmakers to swiftly confirm the experienced nominees so his administration can deliver good governance to all Nigerians. The Senate will evaluate each appointee’s qualifications before holding a final confirmation vote.
