A fire broke out at the new Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Terminal, formerly known as OVH, located on Kayode Street, Marine Beach, in the Apapa area of Lagos State. The incident reportedly resulted from a spillage of petroleum products within the perimeter of the tank farm.
According to reports, the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service swiftly responded to the scene to address the fire. Margaret Adeseye, the Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Fire Service, confirmed that emergency responders.
The fire was successfully extinguished through the concerted efforts of the emergency responders coordinated by the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service. Fortunately, there were no recorded casualties resulting from the incident.
Adeseye noted that with the fire under control, attention would now shift towards investigating the cause of the fire. While the mop-up operation continues, authorities will thoroughly examine the factors contributing to the incident.
