President Bola Tinubu has officially sworn in Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as the 23rd Chief Justice of Nigeria, pending her confirmation by the Senate. The swearing-in ceremony took place at 11:40 a.m. on Friday in the Council Chamber of the State House, Abuja.
Justice Kekere-Ekun took the oath of office and signed the oath register, succeeding Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, who retired on Thursday after reaching the mandatory retirement age of 70. Ariwoola had served as Chief Justice since June 27, 2022.
