President Bola Tinubu is set to visit Beijing for high-level meetings with the President of the People’s Republic of China by the first week of September, according to Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the presidential spokesman.

Although the exact date of President Tinubu’s departure to Beijing has not been confirmed, Chief Ngelale revealed that the Nigerian leader will hold discussions with his Chinese counterpart and meet with CEOs from ten major corporations. These meetings aim to foster economic cooperation and secure benefits for Nigeria.

During the visit, President Tinubu is expected to sign several bilateral agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) to enhance cooperation in various sectors, including the green economy, blue economic development, and national planning. Discussions will also cover national, regional, and international security issues, as well as the completion of the Abuja to Ibadan segment of the Lagos-Kaduna standard gauge railway.

Additionally, key topics such as information technology, refining, oil and gas, and satellite technology will be prioritized during the visit.
