Mr. James Okorn Nsan is a young Nigerian whose profile in the educational landscape of his country is fast rising. Born to the late Mr Okorn Nsan of Abontakon village in Boki Local Government Area of Cross River State, he has emerged today as a dynamic and dependable leader in his field.

Such have been his leadership qualities that the teachers he has led through the years fondly call him “The Young Elder.”

He began his teaching journey in September 2003 at St. Francis International Nursery and Primary School, Calabar, and has since made a significant impact in the field of education.

In 2010, while teaching at Word of Promise High School, Calabar, he was appointed Sports Master. Under his visionary leadership, he organized one of the state’s most remarkable Inter-House Sports Competitions. Upon relocating to Lagos, he joined Ibuolu Secondary School, Ojo Barracks, where his leadership qualities quickly became evident. By 2016, he had become the Principal of Royalbells Model College, Otto Awori, Ojo, where his strategic leadership raised the school’s standards, and his legacy continues as an iconic Principal Emeritus.

Driven by the desire to test his abilities among prestigious schools in Lagos, Mr. Nsan took on the role of Principal at Goldenline International School. Through innovative content generation and effective delivery, he doubled the student population in just six months, setting a new benchmark for educational leadership in the area.

In 2021, Nsan assumed the role of College Principal at Bijamic Private Schools, which, at the time, had only 48 students. His leadership soon became the envy of neighbouring schools. In recognition of his work, he was awarded in July 2024 by the school’s Directors—one of whom is the immediate past Chairperson of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) Eti-Osa. Today, the College has grown to about a few hundred students, with other school owners taking inspiration from his organizational and leadership style.

A trailblazer in the field of education, Mr. Nsan’s impact extends beyond the classroom. His philanthropic efforts are well-known, particularly his personal financial support for students who could not afford their school fees, enabling them to continue their education. He has also consistently inspired students to reach their full potential, many of whom have graduated as best students in their respective fields, attributing their success to his guidance.

Beyond his work with students, Mr. Nsan has trained over 1,000 teachers and school leaders across various states in Nigeria, all free of charge. He motivates educators to strive for excellence while helping students break new ground. He has co-prepared students who have outperformed older peers in high-level competitions, earning recognition even in international media.

A man of many roles and a business strategist, Mr. Nsan is also a Pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God, where his influence extends into spiritual leadership. Academically, he holds a B.Ed in Educational Administration and Planning from the University of Calabar, an M.Ed in Educational Management from Irsbaccom University, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Theology. He is currently pursuing additional degrees, including a Ph.D. He has attended numerous national and international training programs and holds certifications as an international human resource professional and a technological expert, among others.

While this profile only touches the surface of his numerous achievements and contributions to education and the nation, Mr. Nsan remains a tireless advocate for educational excellence. He is currently the Principal of Royal Zenith Global Stars Academy in Royal Garden Estate, Lakowe(by Lakowe Lakes) Lagos, where his work continues to inspire and shape the future of education in Nigeria.

It was in recognition of his contribution to nation building in the area of Development, Management and Delivery of Quality Education in Nigeria that Mr. James Okorn Nsan was deemed worthy to be conferred with the Nigerian Achievement Award.
