Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the price of petrol to N899.50 per litre to provide relief for Nigerians during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

In a statement on Tuesday, the company’s spokesperson, Anthony Chiejina, said the price cut is aimed at easing transportation costs during the festive period. He also revealed a special offer allowing customers to purchase an additional litre of petrol on credit for every litre bought with cash.

“To alleviate transport costs during this holiday season, Dangote Refinery is offering a holiday discount on PMS. From today, our petrol will be available at N899.50 per litre at our truck loading gantry or SPM,” Chiejina stated.

The additional litre-on-credit offer is backed by a bank guarantee from Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank, he added.

This is the second time the refinery has slashed prices in recent months, having lowered the cost of petrol to N970 per litre in November.

Chiejina expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their support and reaffirmed the refinery’s commitment to providing premium-quality petroleum products that are competitively priced and environmentally friendly.

He also emphasized that the refinery, with a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, is helping Nigeria move away from reliance on substandard and blended imported fuel products, which have posed significant risks to health, machinery, and the environment.
