Tragedy struck in the Ikota area of Ajah, Lagos, as a two-storey building under construction at Mega Mall Estate, Mobile Road, collapsed, claiming two lives and leaving five others injured.
Emergency response teams, including officials from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), and other first responders, rushed to the scene after receiving distress calls. Rescuers confirmed that among the deceased were an adult and a teenager, while the injured, all male, were promptly taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
Eyewitnesses recounted the terrifying moment when the structure gave way, trapping workers under the rubble. The cause of the collapse remains unclear, but authorities have launched an investigation.
