Ekene Abubakar Adams, a 39-year-old member of the House of Representatives representing Kaduna under the Labour Party (LP), passed away early Tuesday, announced House spokesman Akin Rotimi Jr. Adams, known for his leadership as Chair of the Sports Committee, was described as a dedicated advocate for grassroots sports development in Nigeria.
“He was a kind and gentle humanitarian, loved by all who knew him,” Rotimi Jr. said in a statement. “His contributions to the House will be deeply missed.”
Adams’ death marks the third loss for the House this year, following the recent passing of Olaide Akinremi from Ibadan North Federal Constituency and Isa Dogonyaro from Babura/Garki Federal Constituency of Jigawa State. Akinremi, known as Jagaban, was celebrated for his grassroots political efforts, while Dogonyaro was remembered as a jovial and intellectual figure.
The House of Representatives extends condolences to Adams’ family, friends, constituents, and the people of Kaduna State.
