The Imo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) says a contempt proceeding  has been instituted against the National Chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

The state chairman of the APC, Daniel Nwafor who disclosed this to newsmen in Owerri, the state capital on Tuesday alleged that Oshiomole had disregarded valid court judgment which affirmed him as the authentic chairman of the party in the state.

Nwafor also announced the suspension of Mr. Marcelenius Nlemigbo, who is the Chairman of the Imo APC Caretaker Committee which was instituted by Oshiomhole.

The suspension was said to have come from  APC’s Ezinihitte Ward and signed by the Ward Chairman, Henry Opara, the Ward Secretary, Clinton Gbamanti, the Woman Leader, Adaihuoma Ofeogbu and Youth Leader, Dominic Lawrence..

“We have a court order which has asked both parties to be in court on January 24.  The order is for them to come and convince the court why they have to continued to disregard valid court judgments.

“I want to tell you that we have a court judgment which has affirmed that we are the authentic executive members of Imo APC.

“At the federal court, we will understand why Mr. Marcelenius Nlemigbo and his cohorts have continued to parade themselves as executives having been suspended from the party.

“We have also commenced contempt proceedings against Adams Oshiomhole, why he decided to disregard valid judgment of an FCT High Court. We have nothing than to resort for help from the court.

“We have commenced contempt proceedings against Adams Oshiomhole and hopefully and in the next days we will make it public.

“In all this, we call on President Muhammadu Buhari to checkmate Oshiomhole because we have always sounded it clear that Oshiomhole’s activities are aimed at bringing defeat to APC in Imo State and the South-East zone,” Nwafor said.
